It's really a matter of preference.
I've played both MapleStory and FlyFF (it's my current favorite right now), so I'd like to think I can maybe shed some light on it.
When you first long in, you'll notice that you'll be playing in a fully-3D environment. Yes, MapleStory is unique in that it's a 2D game, but nothing can really beat 3D monster-slaying.
The community on FlyFF is much better than MapleStory. Granted, there will always be mean people on any game, I haven't ran into nearly as many on FlyFF as I did in MS.
The leveling system is also quite a bit different. Yeah, you run around and kill monsters for hours to level up, but that's a given with any MMORPG. However, the curve for leveling isn't nearly as bad on FlyFF. I remember being level 50+ on MapleStory and it taking nearly an hour to get 10% on your experience bar. With FlyFF, you can have nearly 30%+ experience on your bar, if you're training effectively.
If you're a cash shop user, then you'll be happy to know that in FlyFF, there are no time limits on clothing items. They are a little pricier than on MapleStory, but the reason is that you will keep them for as long as you'd like, and not a specific time period.
Lastly, the thing that sets FlyFF apart is that you gain the ability to fly at level 20. All you need to do is just purchase a broom or board from an NPC, and that's all there is to it. There's even aerial combat (not the greatest, though) that gives you the chance to find good items.
Is it worth it? I think so. If you're a fan of good communities, helpful players, PvP, guilds, and flying through the air, then give it a try.Flyff???????????????

definitely worth it. first u can cooperate by makin a party with an assist that can buff u not only heal in ms, its realy good help if the assist is fs(full support) and has put full head up and haste, beef up is also good except for mage which need mental sign. tho the file may b larger than ms, with its 3d graphice and good system, its definitely worth it
NO. THis Goddamn game takes way to long to lvl. By lvl 40 you will get .01 exp a monster. There is usually one quest for every two lvls which only gives u about 20% exp. The quest are just kill a certain monster to get a certain dropped item. A couple of times it has taken me to kill 217 monsters to get 11 out of 30 item drops. IT TAKES FOREVER. Play if u want to wasted days of your life trying to lvl. At a rate of .01 exp a kill it will take u literally 1000 kills to lvl. Plus all the special shop items are over priced. You can only pay for them in real money. Like items that boost your stats for 30 mins cost $10. WHO THE **** HAS THAT MONEY TO WASTE. Others are like fashion clothes for ur character that have no real game value that cost like $20. THOSE UGLY SHITS COST AS MUCH AS REAL CLOTHES. Anyways, dont waste your time, life and money on this bullshit game. Those ******* Koreans are nothing but greedy bastards. And the ******* that still play the game are their money cows.
